SFG SCHEDULE
IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19
JEGS-SFG
500 Rescheduled and Super Bowl of Bracket Racing Cancelled
CHICAGO, Il. (Mar. 30, 2020): In response to the COVID-19
pandemic, SFG Promotions Inc. has postponed the JEGS-SFG 500
at South Georgia Motorsports Park, originally scheduled for
April 21-26. Over the weekend, President Trump extended social
distancing guidelines across the nation to April 30th, giving
SFG no other option on that matter. SFG has also made two
other major adjustments to their 2020 plans to adapt to the
new global environment.
One of those adjustments is the cancellation of the JEGS-SFG
Super Bowl of Bracket Racing that was scheduled to be at
Darlington Dragway during September 16-20, which is the new
JEGS-SFG 500 date. Anyone who is pre-entered into the Super
Bowl, or a SFG season pass holder will be contacted by a
representative of SFG Promotions to either process a SFG
account credit or refund: each racer has a choice between the
two. Additionally, all pre-entries in the JEGS-SFG 500 will
transfer to the new September date.
The revised SFG schedule for 2020 is as follows:
May
28- 30
FTI 350 presented by JEGS at Cedar Falls Motorsports Park,
featuring two $50,000-to-win races, and a $25,000-to-win race
June
29- July 5
JEGS- SFG Million at US 131 Motorsports Park, featuring a $1.1
Million, two $100,000, and a $20,000-to-win race, in addition
to a $5,000-to-win ladies shootout
September 15- 20
JEGS- SFG 500 at South Georgia Motorsports Park, featuring a
$500,000, $100,000, $50,000, and $20,000-to-win race
October 28- November 1
FTI World Series of Bracket Racing at South Georgia
Motorsports Park, featuring three $20,000-to-win races
“Postponing the 500 was the safest move to make for our racers
and fans,” says Kyle Riley, CEO of SFG Promotions. “We’ve
already seen a member of the racing community contract this
virus and we’d be devastated to see anyone else in our racing
family suffer the effects of the coronavirus. So, we’re going
to do our part to flatten the curve and wait to get back to
racing until the end of May. As more races get rescheduled to
the end of the year, we thought it was best to keep each of
our races on dates that we’d already scheduled and just drop
one [the SFG Super Bowl of Bracket Racing] so that we did not
have to schedule on top of another promoter. However, we’re
looking forward to being back in Darlington in 2021. My heart
goes out to anyone who's been affected by the coronavirus thus
far. I’m praying that this pandemic is resolved quickly and I
can’t wait to see my racing family again at our first race in
May.”
In addition to the aforementioned schedule changes, the Elite
Motorsports Pro Stock exhibition at the JEGS-SFG Million has
been cancelled due to Elite Motorsports’ new constraining NHRA
schedule. The SFG team is actively seeking a replacement for
the exhibition to make the JEGS-SFG Million an entertaining
weekend for each race fan and racer that attends. The
previously announced lineup of Nostalgia Pro Stock cars will
still be in attendance at the event.
ABOUT SFG
PROMOTIONS, INC: SFG is the brainchild of racer and promoter,
Kyle Riley. “I had a vision to offer racers the chance to race
for big money that the average racer could not afford, but I
give God all the credit for the idea because it was sent from
God,” states Riley (SFG stands for Sent From God). Riley adds,
“until SFG came about, your average racer couldn’t afford the
chance to run for $50k or $100k because it was out of their
price range.
I wanted your everyday bracket racer to know what it feels
like to stage up for that kind of money. A lot of people think
I’m crazy, but I’ve always felt it’s better to give than to
receive. The racers have really supported SFG in its first
years, so I want to show them that I really appreciate their
support so I raised the payouts and lowered the entry fees.
Everyone will see the better SFG does the more the racer will
benefit from our success.”
